The Lighting of the First-Ever Youth Olympic Flame in Singapore was held on 23th July 2010 over at Merchant Loop, Near Clarke Quay. Exactly at 8.10PM sharp, the Olympic flame was lit up. It was a BLAST! Hahahahaaha!
Definitely it will be a waste if you did not turn up for this event. Well if you do, I'm sure you will be honored to be at that event to witness such a grand occasion right?
YOU, (WE) Create history you know?! :)
It's really cool & awesome because it's my first time creating history by just witnessing the Lighting of the Youth Olympic Human Torch!! YES! THAT'S SO SIMPLE!
Well so...For the benefit of those who have not seen, or have not heard of it before, or missed the event timing or whatever it is, I'm here to share my experiences with everyone of you!!
First thing up, pssssssst I've got the VIP access to restricted places to snap pictures! Hahahahaahaha!
( Saw the blue little band around my hand? That's the "KEY" to the VIP areas)
Samsung Human Torch!
Posing for the camera since I came early! [In a sheltered Tentage area beside the stage]
Mascot for this year's YOG is rather catchy in terms of colour & it's adorable bubbly size!!! So ORANGEY! Hahahahaa...
I'm sure you've seen the 2 mascot before........
It's LYO & MERLY!!
This is MERLY!
And here is LYO with his ORANGEY Spikey hair!
After viewing the mini exhibits around the tentage area, I headed even nearer to the main performance stage area whereby I could get a closer up view of the performance!
Even without looking at the stage, I could even hear supersonic drums sound and the cheering spirit of the spectators were fabulous!! The atmosphere was entirely wild and insane! Performers were pretty awesome as well... :D
As this old saying "Monkey sees, Monkey Do" - That was the first thing that came into my mind! Hahahahahaa! (: (:
Without hesitating much, we all know that this event is somewhat linked to "Human torch"... So more or less everything is about "TORCH"...
INCLUDING THIS PERFORMER TOO!
Blasting everlasting flames of fire up into the air by a TORCH.
Selected photographers were being asked to be on this "Samsung Machine" to have the best view of the human torch and snap photos of the HUMAN TORCH.
It's highhhhhhhhhhhh... (Will explain further in the later part of this entry)
P/s: The "Samsung Machine" is kindda of a temporary elevator to bring you up till as high as 5 story in height.

w Ash
w the 2 prettaye girls.
Emcee Desiree and Shan from 98.7fm
Mr. Moon was invited up on stage...
To lead the lighting up of the HUMAN TORCH :):):)
There's even countdown to the last 1 min towards the time 8.10pm!
As I mentioned at my earlier part of this blog entry, the lighting of Human torch time will be exactly at 8.10pm sharp, therefore in this event there are exactly 2010 students from many different schools and institutions were present at that point of time to be part of this HUMAN TORCH!
You must be wondering what's up with 2010 student volunteers?!!?!
(Look at the pictures below)
Students from many different institutes participating actively in this event!!!
Every volunteer was given a mini torch in their goodie bag and their task was simple. All they need to do is to switch on their mini torch and raise up high when the hour and the minute hand on the clock struck 8.10pm.
You don't get to see such a scenario anywhere right????
If you're interested in watching the videos, prolly you can try searching "Samsung Human Torch" on Youtube and you can see the lighting ceremony!
The picture will be awesome and perfect with every single of the 2010 volunteers raise their torch high.
LIKE THIS!!!! MAD CHIO RIGHT!
A picture comparison; Before & After!
Well well well, so how was the entire "HUMAN TORCH" event???!?!?!! To me I felt that it was surely not an easy task for Singaporean youth to volunteer themselves in such an event ya?
I'm really proud for all 2010 participants who forgo their time and volunteer themselves to be part of this event because they MAKE HISTORY IN SINGAPORE!
Seriously HISTORY :)
To reward them with something fabulous, we've got our Singapore Idol to perform for us!
Performance by Sezairi!
Enthusiastic fans running towards Sezairi after he has sang finished his song.
THERE! As I was saying earlier on, this "Samsung Machine"... I was so fascinated by it.
I got the chance to be up on this elevator too! :D:D:D:D!
Just by signing this indemnity form and I'm able to be up on that machine already!
(Just in case of any emergency case, so we signed the indemnity form.)
Fuahhh, 5 story high! ;O
Us at the bottom of the Samsung Machine... Queuing up for our turn :)
This is what I see while standing on the machine...
Cam-whore a lil when we're up onto the machine!! Only MAX 4 person per round!
This is what I see from the top view...
A gigantic huge torch shapeeeee! If I'm not wrong, the outline for the torch shape would be used as a guideline for volunteers to be at their assigned position hence they are able to form a giant human torch!
Hahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha!
I'm so smart. ;D
Liang court...
I saw Central!
Lastly, a photo with our Singapore Idol Sezairi!!!
(I don't get it why most of the cheering sound came from the girls, why no guys uh uh uh? )
Me even got a snap with our Singapore Idol!!! Muhahahahhhaahah! *Screams madly*
Bloggers who went that day.
I'm really honored to witness such an awesome HUMAN TORCH event aye!
Got to attend the once in a lifetime lighting of Human Torch for YOG and even got myself a personal shot from SG Idol...
I hope everyone enjoyed this entry and I'm pretty sure all would be waiting for the YOG opening on 14th August 2010 right right right???
I'm looking forward to it tooooooo! Let's countdown. Shall we? :D :D :D
